Job Summary The Medical Representative serves as the key link between pharmaceutical companies and healthcare professionals. The primary goal is to promote, detail, and sell company medications, medical devices, and health products to doctors, hospital decision-makers, and chemists within an assigned territory. Key Roles & Responsibilities 1. Product Detailing & Promotion Conduct regular visits to clinics, hospitals, and pharmacies to present product portfolios to physicians, specialists, and healthcare staff. Deliver clear, scientific product presentations covering active ingredients, mechanisms of action, clinical trial results, recommended dosages, and safety profiles. Distribute samples, clinical trial data, and marketing literature to healthcare professionals. 2. Relationship Management & Networking Build and maintain strong, trusted, long-term relationships with doctors, pharmacists, and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). Address physician queries regarding drug efficacy, side effects, availability, and drug interactions. Organize clinical meetings, seminars, product launch events, and round-table discussions with medical practitioners. 3. Territory & Sales Management Plan and execute a daily, weekly, and monthly call schedule to maximize doctor coverage across the assigned geographical territory. Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets set by the Area Sales Manager. Monitor prescription trends and retail chemist order patterns to ensure stock availability. 4. Market Research & Competitor Intelligence Track competitor products, pricing strategies, doctor prescribing behavior, and promotional tactics. Gather feedback from physicians and chemists regarding product performance and market needs. Report market intelligence and customer feedback back to internal marketing and product teams. 5. Compliance & Reporting Log daily call reports, sample distributions, expenses, and client data into CRM software. Strictly adhere to pharmaceutical sales regulations, local healthcare laws, and corporate ethical guidelines.
